Outreach Programs
Serving Others with Open Hands and Hearts
The Church promotes and facilitates a number of programs and initiatives within the parish and the local community, consistent with the mission of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Department of Outreach, under the guidance of our parish priest, Father Christopher Makiej.
Matthew 5:16 says “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” As Orthodox Christians we must “shine” as examples of the light and love of Christ by giving of ourselves for those who are less fortunate. Parishioners are encouraged to donate their time and appropriate offerings as opportunities are presented.
Ladies Philoptohos, Myrofori
The Philoptochos provides comfort and companionship for people in need and supports our Church in all its endeavors. This active group of compassionate women work for the local parish as well as for many philanthropic projects at the Diocesan and Archdiocesan level.
While sponsoring many wonderful social functions, church-related activities and philanthropic fund raisers, our members form lasting friendships. We invite all women of the parish to join!

Christian Angel Smile Foundation
The Christian Angel Smile Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2007 by parishioners Peter and Desi Souhleris. Together with family and friends, their foundation helps less fortunate families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
Food and gifts are purchased with funds raised by the charity’s donations and special events. The team organizes energetic gatherings of parishioners and their friends to assemble nutritional holiday meals and wrap Christmas gifts for underprivileged children.

Local Community Outreach
The parish organizes programs throughout the year to help the needy in our local community such as:
- Cor Unum meal center volunteering in Lawrence
- Lazarus House Ministries food and clothing donations in Lawrence
- Other food and clothing drives (recepticles in Church breezeway)
